Just in case
If the platen cover is blinking on the
LCD
:

Open the platen cover.

Open the
ADF
cover by holding the
ADF
cover release.

Remove the original document from the
machine by turning the green dial
toward right or left.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to put your hand
under the platen cover and the
ADF
cover.

Confirm that any document does not remain in the
ADF
cover, and then close
the
ADF
cover and the platen cover.

Follow steps 6–7 on page 5.1.
If a printout jams
If a printout jam occurred during printing,an alarm sounds and the part the paper
jammed will blink on the
LCD
. Please remove the jammed paper carefully as below.
CAUTION: The fuser unit becomes very hot. Do not touch the fuser unit
when you are removing a paper jam.
Important: Do not touch the electrical contacts
inside the printer cover or under the
drum cartridge, as an electrostatic dis-
charge may damage the machine.
When the paper jammed inside the machine

Open the printer cover by holding the
printer cover release (R1).

Open the fuser cover by pressing the
fuser cover release (R
2).
CAUTION:
The fuser unit becomes very hot.
Do not touch the fuser unit
when you are removing a paper
jam.
